Just an update to this 16 month-old thread; Portable Office Computers
moved next to the Smitty's on Circle a little while back, so I paid
them another visit today. The salesman asked if I needed any help and
I said I was just looking, but when I got to the demo machine they had
set up (running XP) and asked about Linux, mentioning Ubuntu
specifically, he ran to the back and got a 64-bit Ubuntu 7.10 disk for
me to try! =D

They apparently don't get many people walking in specifically asking
for Linux, but as an even better sign, they carry the Linux-using Eee
PC, told me that they previously had an Ubuntu demo machine, use
Ubuntu for testing machines in the back and are thinking about selling
some inexpensive Ubuntu systems (I'm guessing their systems that are
XP-capable but not necessarily Vista-capable)...
