Now if we can get ISPs to block inbound connections that match patterns
of attacks and also notify the sending ISP they have a configuration
issue (at worst an attack box, at best a broken router which is being
used to hide the real attack box), we'll actually be getting somewhere
with Internet security.

I've been hoping ISPs could get proactive for consumers for a long time.
  Yes, it can be frustrating to those of us who can manage and maintain
an iptables list, but we're firmly in the minority. Plus the static
account isn't that much more, and gives a better QoS :)
