That was one of my options but given Shaw's history of delivering e-mail
slower than Canada Post delivers letters (literally), I didn't consider it
a workable alternative.

That's the message I've received from official and unofficial channels.
SaskTel will have DSL hooked up on my line Wednesday.

Yeah, if I had tried again with the information Greg provided, I could have
probably got to tier-2. I didn't really have the patience to deal with it,
nor should I for the extra $50/month they collect compared to consumer
service.

*sigh*, perhaps technical support is just inversely proportional to the
monthy fee. I get awesome tech support from linode and any time of day.
They're only a 3 person operation, no call center, located in a different
state than their servers and probably with a higher proportion of
customers that get really annoyed things stop working often or for more
than a couple of minutes.

I have no problem with ISP's blocking anything on regular home accounts.
If I pay significantly more money for "business" service, I expect more
than www.mycompany.com redirecting to personal web space.

Anyway, I'll give SaskTel a try and report back. I'm actually a bigger
fan of DSL technology since I'm not sharing the small upload bandwidth. I
expect to see my upload speed become faster and more consistent which is
important to me.
