When I spoke with the Shaw support person, she offered me two alternatives,
use their server or relay through something else on a different port.
Upgrading my cable modem was not presented as an option.
Utimately I opted for the third option, discontinue my service with Shaw.
At the moment, I'm relaying through my linode which I prefer not to do for
non-techincal reasons.
