LAN Networks

Lila is attempting to set up a LAN between our two Ubuntu machines.

While she did the IT course, the part that dealt with Unix was very
brief; everyone was going to be working with Windows, of course.

 From what she can see by googling around and looking at the
setup-methods, one of the computers has to be designated as a server,
and the other as a client.

I of course, know nothing about the subject. Can anyone lend us some
information?

Don't worry about the technical terminology; Lila can handle that. She
just needs some kind of definite starting-point.
