Linux SMP + EEPro 1000 lockup workaround (64-bit only).

        Well, after fiddling around for an hour, it looks like the Linux
kernels > 2.6.17 won't lock up in SMP mode on X2 Athlons when using the
Intel EEPro 1000 cards if you're in 64-bit mode. SCP, nfs, etc. Many
gb (~200gb shifted around) provided nary a lockup (this was done via a
7.04 Ubuntu 64-bit bootdisk which seemed to work well).

In 32-bit mode, 2.6.17-14 is confirmed to work. I haven't gotten around
to testing versions > than that.

I'll try and find out more as time allows.
