We've have a few recent Dell laptops at work that have the
Dell/Broadcom wireless. While Ubuntu does appear to detect it and
give it a device entry, it is unusable. Ndiswrapper has worked pretty
painlessly for those who need Linux on these laptops.
But if ordering a Dell and you have the option to choose Intel
wireless, do so.
