Slackware 12.0 is out, bringing the usual well-tested stable of
packages and tools. Of note, Slackware show ships with Apache 2.2.4 as
default, which is a pretty big nod towards the 2.2.x line of code
(previously Slackware used the 1.3.x line of Apache servers). Xorg and
many other software packages were also updated to the latest version.
Even if you love Ubuntu, Slackware is an incredibly stable and mature
distribution. I've never had problems installing Slackware and running
(as compared to some of the less-stable Ubuntu releases). Slackware
also makes a good basis for running Ubuntu on via such programs as
vmware server :)
