For the "Default Web Browser" its supposed to read that info from your
system.

As per http://desktop.google.com/support/linux/bin/answer.py?answer=63290

---
To change your default browser in an Ubuntu GNOME environment, please follow
these steps:
   1. Launch "System" > "Preferences" > "Preferred Applications."
   2. Select the "Web Browser" tab.
   3. Choose your Default Web Browser from the drop-down menu or input a
custom command for launching the correct browser.
   4. Click "Close" to save your preferences.
If you're running another Linux environment, please consult your operating
system's support site for instructions.
