Naked DSL is a DSL Internet connection without the accompanying landline.
It's no different from normal DSL, except that some providers won't sell DSL
without selling you POTS service. Those that do call it "naked" or "bare"
or "dry" DSL.

As to whether it's advantageous, it's only advantageous if it has a service
or pricing advantage over cable Internet, which obviously has no requirement
for accompanying POTS service.
