Fix for MC 8-bit display on remote systems.

        This may or may not be of interest to others. I use MC a lot for my
various putterings around. One thing that has always bugged me was how
it worked fine on my desktop, but looked totally garbled on some other
systems. I thought it might have been a distro issue, until I installed
Ubuntu on my desktop. My Myth box would always have a corrupt display,
while my local desktop (same distro) was fine. Hmm.

        It turns out the LANG environment variable is to blame.
export LANG=C
and all is well again in the world. It fixes Ubuntu, Fedora Core, etc.
