No, they are both stable releases. 6.06 is just supported for quite a
bit longer. You can think of them akin to Fedora vs RedHat Enterprise
Linux. Fedora is released more often, is more cutting edge, and is
supported for a very limited amount of time, where as RHEL is not
released as often but has good long term commercial support. The
differences between the latest Ubuntu release and the LTS release are
very similar.
