Ex. Someone does not have a machine plugged in to power outlet (because
they kicked the power plug out with their feet) - they say the network
is down or Internet does not work.
Ex. People confuse their usernames with passwords or forget usernames
completly.
Ex. If the default page of the browser is set to about:blank that means
the "Internet" is down too.
