Well, I did upgrade to Feisty.

* Beryl doesn't work. Ridiculous amounts of CPU usage.
* Compiz kinda works, but the windows are black squares (a bug in the
nVidia drivers, according to the Internet at large).
* glxgears doesn't behave well at all. It can lock the entire video
output, forcing me to kill it via SSH (since X11 won't respond, with
only the mouse cursor being able to move).

This is with nVidia drivers 9631 and 9755.

Probably the final annoying bit is this:

$ cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/card
Fast Writes: Supported
SBA: Supported
AGP Rates: 8x 4x
Registers: 0xff000e1b:0x1b000302

$ cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status
Status: Enabled
Driver: AGPGART
AGP Rate: 8x
Fast Writes: Disabled
SBA: Enabled

No fast writes! Bollocks.
