Yea, I installed the linux-generic package and restored my happy SMP
behaviour (and also upgraded another 100mb of other KDE packages, Myth,
etc... Feisty is very feisty on the upgrade front, just before a release).
The launchpad people didn't seem to understand that the Edgy -> Feisty
upgrader gave me a UMP kernel (even though 5.10 -> 6.04 -> 6.10 were all
SMP happy).
