Well, it looks like it's not a matter of missed modules, it's a matter
of the stupid /dev/ directory not having sda/sdb entries. I can
manually mknod them, and then manually start md0/md1, but that's pretty
useless.
I haven't figured out a way to make the sda/sdb devices be correctly
there inside the initramfs environment.
I also found I'm not the only person to experience a bug where upgrading
a RAID array led to the RAID array's constituent parts not being
available (failing the RAID bringup/boot process). See also:
