And in all mine, they're not enabled at the same time because on uses
electrically conductive shells, while the other uses LEDs :)
The sound port on my MacBook Pro autosenses whether you've put in a
traditional audio cable or an SPDIF and selects appropriately. However,
one time it became confused about what was going on and went only into
digital mode. Like Stephen said, everything appeared to work, just no
audio (I had to go into the sound control panel and say to use analog
out instead of digital out).
