How much proof of identity would be required? It could be an easy way for
evil hackers other malcontents to get virtually untraceable, anonymous
Internet access.
It really sounds like another CommunityNet type venture. Government
pays the capital costs to SaskTel to build out infrastructure, followed by
money to "operate" the network. SaskTel then offers commercial service over
the same infrastructure. I'd put money on SaskTel providing some sort of
high speed WiFi to compete with Telus' Hot Spot within a couple months of
the free network going live.
