Ubuntu 6.06 + Missing Operating System

I shut down my Ubuntu 6.0.6 Desktop normally, then when I tried to boot
up I get a "Missing operating system" error. Does anyone have advice on
how to get around this? Do I need to make a grub floppy? An Ubuntu boot
disk? I am not sure how to proceed.
