I'm using the Blackberry Java Development Environment from RIM. See
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/downloads/jde.jsp
for links. I notice 2 newer versions since mine (I'm using 4.0.2, which
works for me). IIRC, while the emulator would start fine from the batch
file 7100t.bat, not all parts would work unless you had first started
the MDS simulator separately (it's a little vague in my memory right
now). I did NOT do mine in a VMware machine though. Since I figured it
was experimental at best, I did mine on an actual XP machine (crowd boos
and hisses). That MAY matter in terms of the USB connection.
Good luck,
Les...
