GPS Software

Okay, I have ordered the data cable for my GPS. Now I need to figure
out the software end of it. (And get my laptop back from service, of
course -- see previous thread if you care.)

Most of the software I find if I google "GPS Linux" seems to be realtime
logging software. That might be nice if I wanted to lug my laptop
everywhere I go. I don't want to. Is there software available for
Linux that will allow me to download my tracks, waypoints, etc, and
either get the data in some usable format (CSV?) and/or make graphical
maps of where I've been? I downloaded some software from a site in
Russia 8-| that claims to do this in Windows, so I understand it should
be possible. (But can't try it out until my cable comes, of course.)

Thanks.
