Is the chassis intellegent? If so, perhaps it needs to be told to activate
the new drive. I haven't worked with that controller but I know I have to
tell the SCSI RAID controllers in our servers what to do with the drive
before they show up for the OS, that's the other place to look. I do this
through the software utility for the RAID in our IBM servers.
