Between X-mas and new years, I was in WA, roughly between I-5 and Mount
Ranier, one evening/night we got about 2" of snow. The folks who drove
from Seattle were all concerned that they'd need chains to drive home. We
were just off a major N-S highway that parallels I-5 and eventually connects
to it near Tacoma with no steep grades or passes. The snow wasn't remotely
close to the amount they get at higher elevations.
I was mildly amused how little bit of snow freaks out folks who aren't
used to it.
