Ahhh, Prednisone, the miracle drug. I can't remember for sure what my
highest dose I was on was (60mg/day?), but I remember it took about
three months to taper myself off. I sure was productive that
summer/fall, though, being up and cheery at 4am every morning! I hadn't
had that much energy since I was 18.

Well, googling for "linux crutches" (without the quotes) returns some
interesting discussions utilizing "crutches" as a figure of speech when
discussing Linux-related topics. So, it's probably a stretch, but
possibly not totally OT.
