Does anyone know offhand, or know of an up-to-date resource regarding
current size limitations for Linux Software RAID and LVM? (and FSes for
that matter) I've been googling, and can find lots of mention of the
2TB limit in the 2.4 days, but I haven't found anything conclusive
regarding if these limits have been raised in 2.6.
on a related topic:
I have raved about 3-ware cards here in the past, but I'm having an
issue now. Has anyone tried running Seagate 500GB SATA-II (jumpered to
SATA-I) drives on a 3-Ware 8506? I haven't received a helpful response
from 3Ware yet, which is different from my past experience. I have it
configured as a 2TB RAID5 (5 drives) and a 500GB RAID1. It keeps
booting drives out of arrays, degrading them, but it reports the booted
out drive as OK, and allows me to rebuild onto that drive. Not exactly
reassuring. (Brand new drives, of course.)
