Usually myth will report some type of reason why it isn't begin recorded - P
(previously recorded), C (schedule conflict) etc. What is it saying?

Perhaps you could try restarting mythbackend and see if it picks up the
changes to the database. On really slow hardware myth can take a few minutes
(or longer) to figure out what to do with scheduling changes.
