yup typo... comes with the frustration. <grin>

umask=0 is what i have in my fstab. -0 in my message.

as far as my knowledge goes that should work just fine. Kbuntu is kinda
strange to me... because you can not su to root... you have to do
everything as a user and sudo <command> kinda like the new mac

adding user allows me to mount the usb drive... but I cant write to the
damn thing.
