ATA

I didn't know knoppix could mount openbsd partitions... I used
OliveBSD and it gives the same error if I try to mount the fs the
installer created.

If I use OliveBSD to create a new disklabel and then format it, I get
a different error "mount_ffs: /dev/wd0a on /mnt: Inappropriate file
type or format"

This is doing fdisk "reinit", disklabel "D" (in disklable I also tried
using "a" and typing in the numbers), and then newfs with no options.

Actually thats what I was doing at first. I have a working CF card
openbsd system. I was using DD to back it up regularly. It started
giving IO errors, and the logs errors pointed to an obscure issues
with the partition table.

Loading these images into VMware, they work just fine (I boot into
olivebsd and then dd the images to the vmware harddrive). But if I
write them to my CF card (using a USB adapter) and trying to boot them
in some hardware (ATA adapter), and it doesn't work.

So I thought I'd reinstall from scratch and use tar to grab the
important files. Since the reinstall isn't working, I'd almost think
this new hardware is bad. Except I seem to be able to make linux
partions, fs, and then data on the CF card with knoppix.

Since someone else created the original CF card installation, I'm
assuming this should work; somehow.

Thanks.
