suspend2 sucks

Hey guys,
I tried to get suspend2 working the other night (as someone online told me
it was faster than hibernate) and the modified kernel (even after getting
rid of it and revering to 2.6.15-26) has had some annoying aftereffects to
my wireless card! When using the modified kernel Ubuntu failed to see my
wireless card and now that I've reverted it seems to have issues connecting
to networks! Even at home it takes about 2-3 reboots to connect (the other
times it says it's connected, has an IP but cannot ping anything but
localhost! I can ping 192.168.1.100 or whatever I am and 127.0.0.1 but
cannot ping the router, other machines, or websites!) and then works until
my next reboot/shutdown/hibernate. Does anyone have any advice? Should I
be thinking a reinstall? Thanks for your time.
