Here are some of the things you missed:
The Internet is *not* a dump truck.

Its a series of tubes!

CBiT's Saskatoon store has closed :(

"As you may know, recent changes in the economy have forced us to make some
difficult business decisions here at Computer Boulevard Inc. In order for
the company to succeed in the future, we must streamline our organization
today. Therefore, it is with regret that we inform you that the Products and
Services that were offered from Computer Boulevard (SK) Inc. (#27-1738
Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9) will only be available from our
Winnipeg Location (Unit B, 1250 St. James Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3H
OL1)."
The speculation is that the cryptic phrase "recent changes in the economy"
means that their rent was going to be raised significantly, making it
cheaper to just close and ship all their unsold stock back to Winnipeg.
Ubuntu disks are starting to be delivered to those who ordered as soon as
they became available. They were given to me to redistribute and I
currently have two x86 and one amd64 ones in case anyone needs. Also they
apparently are giving away Ubuntu stickers! =D Who wants one? :)
Scott has a new Lenovo laptop that he got for a bargain and it runs Ubuntu
nicely, even if they don't support it ^_-
There were reports of either the regular Ubuntu install disk or the
"alternate install" disk not working for a given computer, but using the
other one worked.
Want to play an old game like "Day of the Tentacle" (see
http://www.scummvm.org/compatibility.php for a full list) that used the
LucasArts engine? Install the Scumm Virtual Machine and bring those games
back to life! Its available for almost any OS :)
In Ubuntu, the package is "scummvm"; it suggests two games which have been
released as freeware (packages "beneath-a-steel-sky" and
"flight-of-the-amazon-queen") Tip: to add those two to the ScummVM menu,
use it to open the respective directories in in /usr/share/scummvm/
