Yea, I'd have to say that's one of the best end-user experience points
for Linux. If Microsoft had a carlot, they'd have all the colours of
cars you wanted -- as long as you liked either primer coloured pieces of
crap, or their DUPLO-block inspired Fisher-price equivalent. Apple
would sell sparkle-white FD RX-7s *ONLY* (and they'd have yellow rims
and red trim inside, with a green shift knob). They would have nice
moonroofs.
A car lot run by Mark Shuttleworth (et all) has everything from Austin
Minis, those MGs Scott likes so much, Hondas, Toyotas, RWD, FWD, MR,
AWD, you name it, you got it (although some DIY assembly is occasionally
required, like swapping body panels on a Smart car).
Which is great, because Windows has a fairly dumb WM. I can't believe
they'd ship something where other windows can steal focus randomly!
