Perhaps you could keep a listing of what causes it somehow. I figured
it out because I SSHed in to adjust some rules on the privoxy setup
(which requires I hup it, using one of my rc.d scripts), and noticed the
hang. A few minutes later, I repeated this set of events for a
different reason (I was adding another rule on top of the previous rule,
stupid web bugs), and got a lock. It might be what happens in the
subshell as well (since the script I run executes killall and sleep).

Well, it works from Slackware to Slackware, from Ubuntu to Slackware,
and from MacOS X to Slackware on my side. In all cases, it's the
client's SSH process which locks up.
