No need for the RC anymore, Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (long term support) has been released. For those with previous versions of Dapper, I would think that just hitting "Reload", then "Mark All Upgrades" in Synpatic should do the job as far as an update goes (as long as you have a complete apt source list). I have to not upgrade a few packages for compatibility purposes, so be sure you don't upgrade something you don't want to when you hit that button.

For those with AMD processors, be sure to try Swiftfox. It's the same as firefox, only recompiled with optimizations for AMD processors. Not only does it start faster then regular Firefox on my computer, but page rendering is noticeably faster as well.

I'm using it and it seems pretty stable - firefox even appears to start
faster! The only problem I had is it crashed X when I restarted the
system. I upgraded the kernel -- why it didn't automagically I don't
know -- it worked fine.

I just noticed that the RC of 6.06 is out. To upgrade, run this from a
terminal:
gksudo "update-manager -d"

It's supposed to be stable enough for general users now and final
testing. I'm upgrading in the hopes that the new Xorg 7.00 will not
leak RAM everywhere :)
