ok, cus this doesnt quote the previous email like it should take a look at
Steven Kurylo's to know what im talking about.

I dont think he changed mice, cus the mouse worked find in Windows, just not in
linux. If you wanted it to just autodetect the mouse again, edit the file
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and change the protocol to something else. reboot, and
mandrake will notice that the protocol it has doesnt match with the mouse
connected to it, and will ask you if you want to use the new settings (the ones
that it will set up for you right then and there) or the old settings (the ones
you played around with previously)

choose the new settings.

as far as how does mandrake reconfigure X, XFDrake
