Frazzled

Well, this afternoon I downloaded a tar.gz of Netscape 7. After I'd got
it unzipped, I went and hit the install-bin cogwheel. Nothing
happened. There was another netscape install, which for some reason or
other showed the OpenOfffice Swriter icon. Hitting that got a result of
"Can't find the program 'Netscape install."

Went Googling around, found a page on installations, which led to the
suggestion that it's much easier to install an rpm, steering me to Rpmfind.

So I found the rpm for Netscape 7.0, downloaded it, and went to install
it. I was told that it had bad signatures, did I want to cancel. I
figured that even if it did something bad to my Mandrake, I could
always reload it so I told it to go ahead. Next message was that
everything was already installed.

However, I can't find any part of it anywhere. Running "locate Netscape
7" gives no result at all. Running "Locate Netscape" gives a dozen
results, none of them an executable, none of them in the /tmp file where
I put the rpm.

Can anybody suggest a next step, or even a better first step?

I'm using Mandrake 9.1
