Will "auto" not work? My fstab has
/dev/cdrom /cdrom auto ro,user,noauto 0 0
and it mounts regular CDs just fine; I don't have any other cdrom types
to try. Otherwise I'd write a wrapper around mount to cycle through the
different fs types when it tries to mount the cdrom.
