And from the perspective of someone who has done that, it is extremely
easy. It also improves performance a bit. All your DNS lookups (well,
all but the first one) are local rather then on the network. This
improvement, is usually, negligible, however.

Here is what I did to get mine working:

added this line to the end of /etc/named.boot
forwarders 24.64.2.33 24.64.2.34

The IP numbers will have to represent whatever DNS servers work for you.

That's it.

NOTE: This is with a Redhat system. Once you add that line you will
also have to restart named (or maybe kill -HUP it).
