IPX network

I guess this is not a question related to linux but win95.
I got a game that uses IPX network. I tried and installed the the IPX
support for win95. The game detects it but, how does someone connects
to my computer just by using a modem? Would a simple connection and
exit from terminal program work or any special login is required? This
would be much simpler in Linux I guess but the game is for dos. How
about using Dos Emulator? Could the game still detect IPX?
